Metadata
Talk about files that are found using OSINT and how you can extract information from them.
The data within the data
The files you found doing OSINT can provide even more details when you look at the metadata of the file. Metadata is data about the data. It offers details about various aspects of the data such as its format, structure, content, location, source, creation date, author, organizational information, and more!
A great tool to look at metadata data is FOCA. Grab the latest release to use it. Keep in mind this only works on Windows and you also need to have a SQL Database running. There are also other tools and utilities that you can use, so you can find one that works for you. Another tool that I like is just using a website https://exif.tools/. It is very easy to use as you just upload the document!
