What skills do I need?

To be an ethical hacker you will need to poses a lot of skills. You need to be a jack of all trades really. Some of the basic skills you will need are:

Routers/switches
Microsoft Windows (desktop and server)
Linux/Unix
Firewalls
Mainframes
Networking Protocols
Social skills
Project Management
Writting

How do I learn these skills?

This course will give you a foundation to build on, but you should also think about taking other ICS courses that will help you gain a strong understanding of these skills. For example, this course will not cover how to configure a router or switch, but ICS 273 and ICS 274 does. This is also we we have a a speech course and a higher level English course as these will help yur social and writing skills.

You should also make sure you continue to learn on your own and keep enhancing your own skill set. The more you know and are able to do the better you will be as a cybersecurity professional.
