This is the first step in a penetration test. Before we can do anything we need to be able to gain information and learn about the company/organization. We can do passive methods that do not actively engage any of the targets systems or networks or people.  We can also do some active reconnaissance to gain additional information. This module will introduce you to both methodologies and also show you how to use various tools to gain this information.
